Becoming a young adult can be stressful. You are required to perform well in school while maintaining a social life, playing a sport, and creating your own passion project to help you stand out from your peers...yikes! Some may feel more overwhelmed than others but the point is that it’s overwhelming for everyone.
We’ve pinpointed that those that feel the most at ease while having a lot on their plate not only have a strong mindset but they also have great time management skills. Today, we will be talking about ways to wire your mind to stay on track and perform as well as you’d like it to.
Limit distractions:
The more time that it takes you to get started with your day the less you are going to achieve. It’s important to make a schedule and stick with it. One thing that has worked for a lot of our students is studying for 30 minutes, taking a 5 minute break, and then studying for another 30 minutes and going through this rotation twice (unfortunately… we recommend doing this with your phone OFF). This will result in a total spend of 130 minutes and 120 minutes of studying.
Although this is a long term goal, 120 minutes of FOCUSED studying can go a long way. In fact, we don’t recommend that students spend more than 120 minutes of their day deeply focused on mastering test prep. There are exceptions but for the…
